To all SBOA Members – The SBOA Board of Directors recently had the pleasure of meeting with Sat Parhar, the newly-appointed Chief of the Alberta Sheriffs Police Service. This meeting provided an opportunity for open dialogue, relationship-building, and discussion on matters that are important to our membership and to the future of the service. We were impressed with Chief Parhar’s leadership, professionalism, and vision, and we look forward to continued engagement and collaboration moving ahead.

Why We Formed SBOA
The decision to form SBOA comes after careful consideration and years of planning. As sheriffs, we comprise only a small fraction of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE), making it challenging to effectively advocate for our specific needs. Our profession requires tailored support, and we believe that forming our own association is the best way to achieve this.
