Letter from Sheriff Branch Officers Association (“SBOA”) to all members

Letter from Sheriff Branch Officers Association (“SBOA”) to all members

To all SBOA Members – The SBOA Board of Directors recently had the pleasure of meeting with Sat Parhar, the newly-appointed Chief of the Alberta Sheriffs Police Service. This meeting provided an opportunity for open dialogue, relationship-building, and discussion on matters that are important to our membership and to the future of the service. We were impressed with Chief Parhar’s leadership, professionalism, and vision, and we look forward to continued engagement and collaboration moving ahead.

As an Association, we continue to bring key member priorities to the forefront of our conversations, focusing on mental health supports, better wages, access to strong legal representation, and the development of a specialized pension plan, among the many issues central to our advocacy efforts on behalf of our members.

We would also like to sincerely thank Sergeant Thierry Ramsamy for his service and dedication to our members. His contributions have been greatly appreciated, and we wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.

Additionally, we are pleased to advise that Brandi Aguilar has now fully stepped into her role as Secretary-Treasurer following her election at the June 30th AGM. We thank her for taking on this responsibility and look forward to her continued work in support of the Association and its members.

Looking forward, we continue to seek out members who possess skills, experience, or expertise that can be added to and strengthen our member base. If you are interested in contributing to our organization or if you would like to learn more about how you can get involved, we encourage you to reach out to the SBOA Board of Directors, either in person or by email to [email protected].

Lastly, we encourage any members who have not yet completed their registration to please do so as soon as possible. If you require assistance or if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to me or to any member of the Board of Directors. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement.

Sincerely,

Don Tornwe

President, SBOA

On behalf of the SBOA Board of Directors
