Who We Are
Dornubari Tornwe
President
The Sheriff's Branch, under the Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services, supports various law enforcement agencies in Alberta, covering responsibilities such as traffic safety patrols, warrant apprehension, investigations, courthouse security, prisoner management, and more. Specialized units within the branch, like Sheriff Highway Patrol and Surveillance Sheriff, contribute to the mission of promoting safe communities. Other units, such as Law Court Sheriff and Executive Protection Unit, provide security for courthouses, government officials, and critical infrastructure. Additionally, units like Fish and Wildlife Officer and Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods Unit focus on specific areas such as wildlife regulation enforcement and targeting properties involved in illegal activities. Our non-sworn members, including our committed administration and operational staff within the branch, make all of this work possible.
